She was born August 23, 1922, in Shelby County, Missouri, the daughter of Ferd and Bertha Irene Rufener Wester.
On February 7, 1942, she was united in marriage to Stanley Fifer in Monroe City, Missouri.
He preceded her in death on April 17, 1984.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Mary Smith of Columbia, Missouri and Shirley Parrish and her husband Clifton of Tremont, Illinois; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Irene Maddox Woodward and six brothers, Lee, Glen (Buck), Robert, Russell, Darrell and John Wester.
Mary enjoyed gardening, quilting, crossword puzzles, reading and being outdoors. Her passions in life were raising chickens and flowers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, Missouri.
Entombment will be in Shelbina Mausoleum.
Minister will be Jim Bilbro. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
