Louise Conrad was born on November 4th, 1923 in Braggs, OK the daughter of Medley Jefferson "Jeff" and Emma (Rider) Conrad. She attended school in the Braggs are. The family required everyone to pitch in to make ends meet, so Louise went to work. Louise has been in the Tahlequah area for all of her adult life. She worked as a seamstress for Midwestern Industry, she worked at the Restaurant of the Cherokee as a cook, and babysitting for several families. Whenever she had some free time, Louise loved to quilt, work in the vegetable and flower garden, and tend the birds that gathered in her yard. She adored her family, making sure every brother, sister, niece, and nephew knew they were remembered on their birthday, or during the holidays. She adored animals of all kinds from dogs to cats, goats to chickens. There was no such thing as an animal she didn't like! She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed any chance to share some talk over a cup of coffee. She was the one in the family who provided love and support to the nieces and nephews who needed a "special" mom. A Baptist by faith, the Lord called Louise home on Monday, April 22nd, 2013 at her home in Tahlequah, OK with her loved ones by her side. She was 89 years old. Louise is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Medley Conrad Jr., and Ralph Conrad, and three sisters, Mary Conrad, Edith Ryan, and Gladys Kincade.
