Barbara was born in Watertown, on August 8, 1924, a daughter of the late Arthur and Hazel Aldrich Zecher. She attended grade school in Castorland and graduated from Lowville Free Academy in 1944. On November 23, 1947, she was married to Kenneth H. Gordon at the Lowville Methodist Church. The couple lived in Lowville all their married life. Kenneth died May 7, 1975.
Barbara worked in the offices of the Lewis County General Hospital. She was an active member of the Lowville Methodist Church, its Methodist UMW group, the Lewis County General Hospital Auxiliary, Zenith Chapter OES, Lowville Home Bureau and a former member of the Lowville Grange. She was an active volunteer for Lewis County Search and Rescue for over 20 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Jana Reynolds of Lowville; three grandchildren, several great grandchildren, the Gordon and Zecher families, nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her brother Euland Zecher, her sister Lorraine Terrillion and an infant brother Vincent.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sundquist Funeral Home with Rev. Beth O'Neil, Pastor of the Lowville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in West Lowville Rural Cemetery.
