When their mother Karin Larsdotter died
in 1869,the three young sisters (Kajsa,
Maja Lisa,Marit)were fostered to separate
households.Marit was fostered to Pastor
Johan August Almqvist at Norra Ny Prastgard Kyrkebol.Starting in 1874,she was a
domestic servant in various households,
including the house of the miller at
Rojdafors.In 1882 ahe gave birth to a son,
Oskar Theodor in Fryksande,from where she
emigrated with Theodor in April 1883 by
way of Kristiania (Oslo) with her
destination being Dassel,MN.

She married Sven Peterson 20 Mar 1886 in
Marshall County,MN.They moved with their
children by ox cart to Skagen Township in
Roseau County,MN. sometime before the
Indian Scare of January 1891.
Marit/Marie/Mary Persdotter/Persson/Peterson
died 28 June 1905 from Tuberculosis.
