Obituary---Elizabeth Blake Riding
Died in this city Tuesday morning, April 21, 1908, of blood poisoning, Elizabeth Blake Riding. Deceased ran a Mesquite thorn into her hand about two weeks ago and probed for it with a pin blood poisoning sit in and last Saturday her condition became precarious, death resulting about 4 a.m. Tuesday.
Elizabeth Blake Riding as born at Salisbury, Wiltshire, England on January 28 1849 and came to this country with her parents when about four years of age. Settling in Salt Lake City, she was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1857, moved to St. George in 1863, and was married to Henry Hale Riding at Salt Lake City in 1870. Her husband died seven years ago last October.
Elizabeth Blake Riding had nine children, seven of whom survive her, four sons and three daughters Her mother Harriet Hollis Blake is still living here and is in the 88th year of her age.
