Russian Soviet composer, the author of more than a hundred songs written primarily for movies. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1978), People's Artist of the RSFSR (1988). In 1957 he graduated from the Music Institute Gnesins composition class. He worked for some time as sound engineer, and broadcasting and recording, and then became a professional musician. Since the early 1960s worked in film. Widest popularity earned him the song "Daisies hidden" from the movie "My Street" (1970). His songs can be heard more than 70 movies and cartoons, and their singing, Anna Herman, Joseph Kobzon, Edward Gil, Maya Kristalinskaya, Lyudmila Zykina, Valentine Tolkunova, Lyudmila Gurchenko and other performers.
