Mrs. Belle S. Clovis, aged 81 years, six months and 11 days, will known resident of Jollytown, died at 7:10 a.m., Monday, July 5, at the home of her stepson, Edward R. Clovis, of Jollytown.
Mrs. Clovis was born December 24, 1855, in Wayne Township, a daughter of Layton and Louisa Granlee Stewart, and spent all her life in southwestern Greene County. She married Jacob Clovis, who died October 9, 1936. Mrs. Clovis was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg and was an active worker in the W.C.T.U. She is survived by four stepsons, Edward R. Clovis, of Jollytown, in whose home she died, and Owen, William and Fred Clovis, all of Pittsburgh; one brother, Norman J. Stewart, of Kuhntown, and a sister, Mrs. Verne Cole, of Waynesburg.
