Mary was the daughter of Alva Schofield Eastman and Sarah Johnstone.
She was married first Mar 3, 1873 in Lowell, Massachusetts, to widower William Hellier Reid. They had one son, William Hillier George Reed, b 1875. William had a daughter Marinda from his first marriage. William died Jan 27, 1875 in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada.
Then she married widower, Charles R. Shaw in Dec 22, 1880 in Toronto, Canada. Charles had 3 children from his first marriage, and he and Mary ahd 4 more children.
