Anthony Nicholas was the seventh of twelve children born to Louis William FARO and Frances Agnes MAHER (h&w). Baptism May 07 1933 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Pendleton OR with Sponsors: Angelo VENZONE and Mrs. Clarence DePEW.

"Tony" attended St. Joseph Academy in Pendleton, OR until third grade, then St. Andrew Mission school, before moving with his parents' family to Echo, Umatilla County, OR.

During the Korean War, Anthony served as a demolition engineer with the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. His rank was Private First Class.

October 11 1954, "Tony" married Bernadean THOMAS at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Hermiston, Umatilla County, OR. The couple lived in Pendleton throughout their married life.

Mr. FARO worked at Pilot Rock Lumber Company which became Georgia-Pacific Corp., then Louisiana-Pacific Corp. When it closed, Tony worked at Fleetwood Enterprises Inc., until his retirement in 1998.

For 37 years, Mr. FARO was a scout master with Troop No. 743, sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He helped 25 scouts obtain their Eagle Scout designations. His troop enjoyed several 50-mile hikes into the Wallowa mountains and many summer camps.

Mr. FARO served as Cub Master, Scout Master, Order of the Arrow adviser, Explorer adviser, Camping Chairman, and hunter-safety Instructor. He received the Award of Merit, Silver Beaver Award, Eldon GRABLE Memorial Award, and Golden Plunger Award.

Tony loved the mountains: exploring, hunting, camping, berry picking, fishing, wood cutting, motorcycle trails; and vegetable gardening, playing cards, animals of all kinds, and family and friends.

Mr. FARO was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Pendleton Elks Lodge, LaGrande American Legion, and the Main Street Cowboys.

Survivors include his wife Bernadean FARO and son Dale W. (Ana) FARO--all of Pendleton, OR; son Tony D. (Ginny) FARO of LaGrande, OR; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.//Tony was also survived by seven sisters: Teresa (Mrs. Joseph) MANTIONE, Mary (Joe) JONES, and Mrs. Marjorie BONIFER--all of Pendleton; Mrs. Laurina CAMPBELL and Alice (Darrel) WALTERS--both of Walla Walla, WA; Blanche (James) SEVERNS of Federal Way, King County, WA; and Rita (Dean Fenton) DRAKE of Spokane, Spokane County, WA; and two brothers Charles (Elsie) FARO of Echo, OR, and Patrick (Aileen) FARO of LaGrande, Union County, OR; and many nieces and nephews.

Tony was predeceased by his parents, his brother Stillborn FARO (1921), and sister Carol (Mrs. Kalman) LOANI (1981).
