JONESBORO - Barbara Ellen Look 76, left this earth Saturday, April 13, 2013, at an assisted living facility in Hancock, following a long, courageous battle with cancer. Barbara was born April 2, 1937 in Newark, New Jersey, the daughter of William and Geneva Whitney Shadwell and, after graduating from Long Branch High School in Long Beach, New Jersey in 1954, moved to Jonesboro in 1955. After her mother died at the age of 30, Barbara lived the rest of her childhood with her aunt, Blanche Whitney. She was predeceased by her parents; her aunt Blanche; her husband, Welsley Look; a brother, Merle Look of Alexandria, VA.; a sister, Sally Chapman of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; and a grandson, Sean Beaudoin. Barbara is survived by three sons. Kevin Feeney and his partner, Deborah Cates, of Cutler, Leigh Feeney of Jonesboro, and Daniel Scott and his wife, Janet, of Machias; and one daughter, Joan Marie Scott of Machias. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Colby, Daniel, Derek, Patrick, Meagan, Andrew, Katie, Matthew and Calli and many great-grandchildren; one brother, Don Shadwell and his wife, Janice; one sister, Susan Dublin and her husband, Peter; and very special friends, Donnalee Feeney of Roque Bluffs, and Frank Merrill and Kathy Look, both of Jonesboro. Barbara enjoyed spending time outside working on her lawn and flower gardens and loved her cats, taking in many strays along the way. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, May 12, 2013, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro followed by a celebration of Barbara's life at the Jonesboro Community Center, next to the church on Look's Point Road. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ark Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 276, Cherryfield, ME. Arrangements have been made by the family.
