He was a son of the late Abraham "Teddy" and the late Magree Reed Green was born on August 9, 1928, on Hilton Head Island, SC (before the bridge).
He attended the local public schools of Beaufort County starting at the one room Cherry Hill School. "Brazen Boy", grew up on the shores of Skull Creek. There his father taught him the art of farming and fishing, a lifelong survival skill that would support him and his family for a lifetime.
As many native islanders did, "Brazen Boy" left his native homeland to explore the ways and cultures of others and migrated to the Keys of Florida, the Gulf of Texas, Louisiana, Mexico, and Mississippi and other territories of these United States.
In 1964, he returned home to Hilton Head Island, SC, after meeting his lovely wife Jo Ann Robinson Green. He continued being an avid fisherman. He was also employed by P.A.I. of Palmetto Dunes for many years, and later retired from Davis Landscape.
He was known for speaking his mind and telling you like it is. That's how he got his nickname "Brazen Boy". Arthur will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend to many.
In addition to his parents, one son Arthur Green. Jr. and one son-in-law, John Thomas Rawls preceded him in death.
