Margery Ames Pflughaupt, the daughter of Benjamin C. Ames and Linton King Ames of Fort Smith, died in her home in Danville, Ky., of Alzheimer's disease on Sunday, April 7, 2013.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She was an organizing member of the Shelby County Parks Department and the inspiration and provider of the senior high scholarship program at Shelby County High School. She attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., where she met her husband, Eugene. They were married in 1950 and lived together in love for 62 years.

In addition to Gene, she is survived by her daughters, Deborah and husband Robert Armbruster of Clinton, Ky., Julie and husband Allen Boyd of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Sarah and husband Ray McKenney of Cynthiana, Ky.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her sister, Dr. Janet Hale of Dallas.

Funeral service was April 9 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Danville. Burial was at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
