Born in Richland County, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Jane Davis McGill.
She was co-owner of Jessie Evans Grocery for 40 years. Mrs. Evans was a member of South Beltline Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Katherine E. Matthews of Columbia; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Edward N. Taylor and Rev. James Abbott. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be deacons of South Beltline Baptist Church.
The family suggests that those who wish may make memorials to a charity of one's choice.
