| Birth: | Dec. 2, 1867 | | Death: | Jan. 29, 1936 |  Spanish-American War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served during the Spanish-American War as a Private in Company H, 1st North Dakota Volunteer Infantry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery in the Philippine Islands on May 16, 1899. His citation reads "With 21 other scouts charged across a burning bridge, under heavy fire, and completely routed 600 of the enemy who were entrenched in a strongly fortified position".
