Anna Margaret Eckhardt was born in Walter, Russia. She was the daughter of Hans Jacob Goetz and Katherine Barbara Schafer. Anna married Conrad Eckhardt in 1888 in Frank, Russia. Three years later they immigrated to the United States. The first settled in Hastings, Nebraska.In 1894 they traveled to Washington State and settled in Bickleton, and in 1908 they moved to Odessa. Ten children were born to this marriage. She was preceded in death by her daughter Anna Margaret Buddrius and three infant sons. Anna was survived by her husband Conrad and six daughters, Katie (Henry) Derr, Emma (Carl) Eckhardt, Clara (George) Kissler, Esther (Harry) Schmidt, Lydia (Henry) Hopp, and Julia (Jake) Hagelganz, as well as 31 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
