Funeral services for Archie R. Phillips, Sr., 81, who died at his home on Lumberton, R. 5, Wednesday, were held from the home Friday at 3 p.m. with Rev. E. A. Paul and Rev. I. P. Hedgpath officiating. Burial was in the Phillips Cemetery on Lumberton R.5.

Members of the East Lumberton Baptist Church choir with F. F. Hays in charge, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Bringing in the Sheaves".

Pallbearers were John & Onnie Hill, Charles Todd, Russel Lampley, Capers Clewis and D. A. Frye.

The beautiful flowers were borne by Mmes John Hill, Robert Phillips, Fletcher Sessions, Misses Gussie Hill, Lucy Summerset, Elizabeth Britt and Minnie Ruth Powers.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mary Britt of the home; three sons, Charlie and Archie, Jr. of the home and William who was at Pearl harbor when last heard from; several grandchildren, neices and nephews. He was also a brother in law of Mrs. W. E. Phillips of Lumberton R. 5.

His wife, Cora Moody Phillips, died about 10 years ago.
