Sarah Pursel was the daughter of Eli and Jane thompson-Pursel, later spelled PURCELL. She married Benjamin Christian Swan and they were the parents of Frederick, Mattie, Frank and Ernest. Sarah died in 1879, and the three children went to live with their grandparents. Benjamin remarried to Sarah's sister Nancy and had five more children. May Sarah rest in peace.
