Upon returning from the mission, the pilots of two A-20, Nos. 43-21725 and 44-172, radioed that they are leaving the training and sink into the thick clouds. The region is indeed shrouded in fog. This will be the last news received from these two planes, for soon after, they crash west of the town, to Houssonloge, it is 16:10.
Did they die instantly, having landed in trees? The fog falsified the data altimeters? It is impossible to say given the lack of witnesses.
