"GREEN TWP. - Eldridge E. Cope, 81, of 1876 Greensburg Rd., died Friday at Barberton Citizen's Hospital. He had been a resident of Greensburg since 1928. He was a clerk in the Akron Post Office 32 years, then he was employed at the First National Bank of Akron. Mr. Cope was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the Junior Order of Mechanics of Greensburg, the Howard D. Miller Post No. 436 American Legion of Greentown. He was a World War I Army veteran. He is survived by sons, Harold, of Akron, Edward, of Houston, Tex.; brother, Sturm Cope, of Rogersville, Tenn.; and sister, Mrs. Sharlie Hill, of Rogersville, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian in May, 1979. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m., at the A. L. Button Funeral Home, with Rev. John E. Capper officiating. Burial Greensburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m."
