Ellen (Ella) Jenson and her twin sister, Anna, were born November 5, 1872 to Niels and Ingar Jenson. They were their parents' eldest children. The family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and immigrated to the United States in 1884. They settled in St. Charles, Idaho. Ellen married John Eric Dillon, who was also a Swedish immigrant. They had two daughters. They lived in several places, but eventually settled in in California.
