SIDNEY NY — Floyd A. Tuckey Jr., 80, of Sidney, passed away Monday, June 25, 2001, at the Skilled Nursing Facility in Sidney.

He was born Dec. 18, 1920, son of the late Floyd A. and Viola Tuckey Sr., in Bainbridge. ( Actually I believe his biological mother was Pearl May Davis. She was married to Floyd Sr. before Viola )

Floyd served his country in the U.S. Army, and was honorably discharged.

He married Dorothy Tremper on June 28, 1949, at the Sidney United Methodist Church. She predeceased him on Feb. 24, 1997.

Mr. Tuckey was employed by E.C.D. of Bendix in Sidney for more than 40 years, before retirement.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Sidney and the VFW Corp. R.H. Arrandale Post #7914 in Sidney.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Marjorie Tuckey, of Cortland; two grandsons, Christopher and Michael Tuckey, of Cortland; half brother, Kenneth Tuckey, of Sidney; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held Friday, June 29, 2001, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Bainbridge at 1 p.m., with the Rev. David Masland, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Sidney, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Sidney.
