He married Deborah Dewaldl, June 1, 1928, in Bazine. She died March 4, 1942.
He was a resident of Bazine for more than 45 years and had been a farmer and an auto and farm machinery salesman. He had lived at St. John's of Hays for the past several months.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Bazine.
Survivors incllude a son, Keith H., Hays; one daughter, Joyce Dechant, Bazine; one brother Reuben, Hays; three sisters, Alice Margheim and Inez Royer, both of Great Bend and Tillie Martin, Bazine; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were November 21 at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, with the Rev. Don Snyer officiating; burial in Bazine.
