Doris Kramer, 76, of Pasadena, who was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all, died Sunday, November 13, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Doris was born on March 10, 1935 in Longview, Texas and moved to the Freeport/Velasco area as a teenager. She graduated from Brazosport High School in 1953. While in high school, she met her husband of more than 50 years, Chuck "Spud" Kramer. They lived in New Orleans and moved to Baytown in 1968 and lived there for more than 30 years before moving to Pasadena in 1994. Known as someone who always had a smile on her face, Doris was active in all of her children's school and extra-curricular activities, whether it was attending dance recitals, volleyball games or baseball games. Her family and friends were truly the cornerstone and light of her life. She was also a devoted member of First United Methodist Church in La Porte. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Sherry, and parents Sara and I.L. Harden. Doris is survived by her husband, Chuck "Spud" Kramer; daughters and sons-in-law Kay and Jay Smith of Clear Lake, Lou Ann and Doug Martin of La Porte, and also son and daughter-in-law Mark and Stephanie Kramer of La Porte and Son-In Law Greg Sherry of LaPorte Sister Becky Maxwell of Fredicksburg. In addition, Doris is survived by grandsons Lee Martin of La Porte, C.J. Martin of Austin, granddaughter Ivy Kramer of La Porte, and granddaughter Amanda Zammit and husband Brent of La Porte and granddaughter Kasie Sherry of La Porte. Three great-grandsons, True, Eden and Jackson Zammit, also survive.
