Peggy Jane Wortman Harvey was my aunt. At the young age of 17 she was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. Although she was told she wouldn't live more than a couple of years, she married Walter Henry Harvey in 1958. They never had children, although they were like second parents to their nieces and nephews.
Peggy never let her mind stop working, even when most of her body did. She played the stock market where she did quite well.
In 2011 Peggy was diagnosed with breast cancer and surgery was performed. Unfortunately, the Muscular Dystrophy had progressed to hindering her ability to swallow and breathe. She died one week after turning 62.
