"Horatio Nelson Jackson, the youngest son of the Rev. John Jackson, was a farmer in Brome in the Province of Quebec. His farm consisted of a former portion of his father's estate to which he made additions by purchases from other parties in the "Jackson Neighborhood". He was appointed a Justice of the Peace in 1846 and held the office for thirty-three years. Both he and his wife were devoted members of the Congregational Church at Brome in which he held the office of deacon for thirty-three years.
"As he approached the age of three score years and ten, Mr. jackson found the cares of his farm a burden, his three sons having chosen professions and left their home. Therefore, in 1869, he sold his farm and removed to Cote Saint Paul, Montreal, where his second son at that time was a pastor. There he purchased a garden, which he continued to cultivate during the remaining years of his life. his former farm and that of his father, the Rev. John jackson, are now (1911) owned by Benjamin Draper whose wife is, on her mother's side, a direct descendant of Josiah Rogers.
