Actor, Motion Picture Director. Kenton started his acting career in 1914, as a regular in the Sennett Studios silent film "Keystone Kop" features. After working his way as a studio gagman and assistant director, was given a crack at directing a feature film with the 1920 Sennett production, "Down on the Farm" . He continued working in a comic vein at other studios throughout the silent era with titles to include "The Sap" (1926), "Bare Knees" (1927) and "Golf Widows" (1928). With the advent of the talkie revolution, he had no trouble adapting to the direction of films such as "Mexicali Rose" (1929), "X Marks the Spot" (1931) and "Guilty as Hell" (1932). In 1940s, he had much success in comedy features to include "Pardon My Sarong" (1942) and "Who Done It?" (1942), which he played a cameo role as Teddy Roosevelt. He devoted his last working years to 1950s television, helming episodes of series of "Topper" and "Amos ‘N' Andy".
