Father of humorist Will Cuppy (1884-1949). He was at different times a grain dealer, a seller of farm implements and a lumber buyer for the Eel River Division of the Wabash Railroad. He married Mary Frances Stahl (1855-1927) in Auburn, Indiana, on March 9, 1881. They divorced in 1903. They had two other children besides Will: Anna B.(1883-1940); and Jack R. (1887-1898). According to his Cass County death certificate, his body was sent for burial to the South Whitley Cemetery, where other members of his family are buried; but there is no stone there with his name. He belonged to the Masons and the I.O.O.F. Cause of death: stomach cancer.
