Ann (Bagwell) Ashley, 90, of Greenville, SC, died Thursday, July 5, 2001, at Oakmont East Nursing Center after a long illness.

Born in Anderson County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Monroe Maston and Elizabeth (Spearman) Bagwell.

A homemaker, she was a 60-year member of First Baptist Church of Greenville where she was a member of the Loyalty Sunday School Class, taught children's Sunday School for many years, and was a member of the Exchangettes.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, B. B. Ashley; three sons and daughters-in-law, B. B. "Bernum" and Jean Ashley Jr. of Inman, Monroe M. and Roberta Ashley of Brevard, N.C., and Louis and B. J. Ashley of Greenville; two sisters, Ruth Tolly of Williamston, S.C., and Bea Hudgens of Florence; a brother, Martin Bagwell of Williamston; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday, July 7, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Greenville with Dr. Baxter Wynn officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Memorials could be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 7 Woodlawn Office Park, 5019 Nationscrossing, Suite 217, Charlotte, NC 28217.
