In Memory of Floy Hopple
June 20, 1924 - January 25, 2013

Floy M. Hopple, 88, went to be with the Lord Jesus on Friday, Jan 25th. Floy was born of Earl and Marie (Dodson) Shreck in Ogden, Utah, June 20, 1924. Her siblings were Jean Jolly and Donald T. Shreck. Floy married Paul F. (deceased) in 1947, and was married 60 years. They had four children, Dennis, Paulette, Barbara, and Charles. Floy is survived by 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

While growing up in Utah, Floy graduated from Ogden High and attended Weber College. Floy worked at Hill Field Air Base, where she entered into a training program as a Sheet Metal Apprentice and progressed through the ranks to Journeyman. At the time when WWII needed a "Rosie the Riveter", Floy was the right woman for the job. Floy continued her career there until 1956. Floy then changed professions to Paste-up Artist for various newspapers, until retiring from work in 1970.

Floy studied fine art, where she perfected her style of art using oils, watercolor and pastels. She specialized in landscapes, redwoods, florals and portraits, Floy belonged to several art galleries and societies, the last one being Cherry City Art Guild in Salem, OR.

Floy lived in Ogden, UT, Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, San Mateo and San Jose, Ca, before settling in Salem, OR in 1987. Although being raised in the church, Floy became a Christian in 1969. While in Salem, Floy was a member of People's Church, then Emmanuel Bible Church. Floy was active in many aspects of the church with her husband and family. Floy is happy, happy to be in heaven and happy to be with God!
