Emigrated to the United States from Cornwall England with his Mother and several siblings, joining his father and brother Richard Henry Mann Sr. & Jr) who were already here and working at the BFGoodrich Rubber Company in Akron Ohio. Jack later was to be employed by Goodrich, and eventually began his own company , the Karman Rubber Co., with a partner. They specialized in making small rubber products there were impossible or financially imprudent for the larger rubber companies to manufacture. Jack married Edyth Hutchinson on Sept 4, 1922 . Edythes last name has been recorded with several different spellings. Jack was a successful family man and business man and well respected in the Akron area.
