Major League Baseball Player. Nicknamed "Blazer", he was a hustling second baseman making his debut with the St. Louis Cardinals on September 20, 1955. For twelve seasons, he played with the St. Louis Cardinals ( 1955-59), San Francisco Giants (1960-61), Cincinnati Reds (1962-63), Washington Senators (1964-65) and Kansas City Athletics in 1966. He was named to the National League All-Star Team in 1958, finishing his career in 1966, with a record of 1366 hits, 21 homeruns, 731 runs scored, 308 runs batted in, a .258 batting average and a .979 fielding percentage. In retirement he managed Baseball in Japan for three seasons and compiled a record of 180 wins, 208 loss, with 28 ties. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
