Mrs. Frederick Hartung, an old and highly respected settler of Fontanelle in the early days passed away about Jan. 6 at the home of her son, Gotlieb Hartung aged nearly eighty-nine years.
With her husband, she came to this county, when everything was new and they were rewarded for their hard efforts during the years that have passed by being able to save a nice competence for their old age.
Her husband died a number of years ago and seven children survive. They are Mrs. Fred Brackett and August and Gotlieb Hartung of Fontanelle, Mrs. Henry Plugge of Fremont, William and Julius Hartung of Winslow and Mrs. Fred Heuerman of Arlington.
