Funeral services for Barbara Welch, 84, will be held at 12 noon Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel with Rev. John Harp officiating. Interment will follow at 3:30 in Monroe Memorial Park, in Monroe, LA. Visitation with the family will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Barbara was born on January 6, 1929 in Wills Point, TX to J.C. and Mattie Scirratt Riley and passed away on April 3, 2013 in Shreveport, LA. She was a resident of Shreveport where she was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church and a retired secretary from First Baptist Church of Bastrop and ARC Morehouse. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Beverly Ann Welch. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charlie C. Welch; brothers, James S. Scirratt, and wife, Vera; brother-in-law, Spurgeon Welch; sisters-in-law, Earlene Jones and husband Ivan, Anita Roscoe and Mary Weston and husband, Don; numerous nieces and nephews.
