Mrs. Rena Allen Cosper, 89, of South Pittsburg, TN passed away, Wednesday June 13, 2007 at her home. A native of LaFayette, Alabama, she graduated from Union Hill School. She retired from West Point Pepperell after 39 years of service. She had been an active member of LaFayette Heights Baptist Church for 40 years. More recently, she was a member of First Baptist Church, South Pittsburg, Tennessee, and a member of the Fidelis Class. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Still, and her second husband, Dan Cosper; parents, Wayne and Alta Allen; her brothers, Russell and Harold Allen; and her sisters, Mayme Lon Mangrum and Marie Ray.
She is survived by a daughter, Louise S. (husband, Ed) Fuller; grandson, E. Scott Fuller; granddaughter, Allison W. (husband, Justin) Mulloy; great-granddaughter, Stella Ruth Fuller Mulloy; and several nieces and nephews. Mema loved children, butterflies, and tending her flowers. Her famous coconut and caramel cakes will be missed by all, and she was loved by everyone who met her.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 14, from 5-7 p.m. CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg. Funeral services will be conducted from LaFayette Heights Baptist Church in LaFayette, Alabama on Friday, June 15 at 3 p.m. CDT with Reverend Paul Howard officiating. There will be visitation at the church from 1 p.m. CDT until service time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to LaFayette Heights Baptist Church, PO Box 210, LaFayette, AL 36862 or First Baptist Church, 306 Fifth Street, South Pittsburg, TN 37380.
