SHANNON – William N. "Jack" George, 68, died Monday, April 1, 2013, in Guntown after a long illness. He was born Nov. 25, 1944, in Marietta to Bavis and Vivian Stephens George. He lived most of his life in Shannon. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a factory worker. He enjoyed making conversation and jokes with his family and friends, and being with his grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Shannon with the Rev. Johnny Hamblin officiating. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Nettleton is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, three stepdaughters, one sister, three brothers, five stepgrandchildren and a special nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Cleta Blake.
Pallbearers will be Steven George, Mark Nanney, Junior Blake, Kevin George, Mark George and William Martin.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
