Professional Football Player. For eight seasons (1938 to 1940, 1945 to 1950) he played at the position of Running Back in the Canadian Football League with the Calgary Brooks and the Calgary Stampeders. He was captain of the team when Calgary won the Grey Cup Championship in 1948 and played in the the finals of 1949. He was also awarded the Dave Dryburgh Memorial Trophy, and was named a CFL West All-Star in 1939, 1940, 1946, 1947, and 1948. He was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, BC Sports Hall of Fame, Alberta Sports Hall of Fame, Canada's Sports Hall of Fame, and Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame.
