Stair, Gary Dean – age 63 of Mascot passed away suddenly Thursday, October 1, 2009, after playing 36 holes of golf. Member of Holston Baptist Church. Gary was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. His greatest desire was serving the Lord through his service in Foreign Missions and through the Men's Ministry at his church that he loved dearly. Preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Elpha Stair. Survivors include wife, Elezan Barnes Stair; son, Wesley Stair; daughters, Karen Hancock and husband Ben, and Missy Stiles; grandchildren whom he adored, Jake Tate and wife Heidi, Kendahl Hancock, and Spencer, Saylor, and Sophie Stiles; great grandchildren, Ben and Liam Tate; brother, Ronald Stair; and sister, Ginger Bates. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM Sunday, October 4, 2009, at Holston Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Young and Rev. Eddie Earl officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:15 PM Monday at Bridges Funeral Home and proceed to Roseberry Cemetery for a 1:00 PM interment. Pallbearers: Neal Clabo, Robert Lee, Herb Warner, Donny Raley, Ondes Webster, Brandon Myers, and Rodney Davis. Honorary pallbearers: Men's Ministry at Holston Baptist Church and hunting and golfing buddies.
