Being 90yrs old, she came from an era when women went to the hairdresser every week. This was something our mother really enjoyed. Yet, she was not an idle person. She worked an adult's job by the end of grade 8. Though she would have seven children, the first two within the same year, she managed to work, keep house and be a loving mother. She bought what would be her first and only home with her own money. When her workplace retired her early, because of her health, she took a small rest then went out and got herself another full time job. She was a positive, funny and smart woman. She loved her husband and the large family they created together. Predeceased by her husband Bill and her son Arthur (survived by his wife Judy) she is lovingly remembered by her daughter May Green (Ron), daughter Marie Green (Paul), daughter Debbie Kaye (late Norman), son Ken (Andrea), daughter Karen Bourdon(John) and son Paul. Sadly, she was predeceased by each of her sisters Ev, Peg, Marge and Jean and her brother Arthur. She was adored by her 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. We will remember you. Resting at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd. Visitation will be on Monday, April 1st from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. Funeral service on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 11:00am in the Chapel. Pastor Lewis Bryant will be officiating. A reception will be held at the James Reid Reception Centre following the committal service at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to your choice of either the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the UHKF (Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario).
