George died in the "Line Of Duty" from ulcers of the stomach in the Wadsworth Hospital in New York during the war.

Just prior to his passing he had been reassigned from a Camp in Alabama to the R.T.C. Battery Company, Regent of the AA-AC, Verona, New Jersey.
