LONGVIEW — Alice Hawkes, 61, a Victoria native residing in Longview, died Monday morning in a Dallas hospital. Mrs. Hawkes was born Nov. 22, 1919 in Victoria to Mrs. Sallie Gathright and the late John D. Gathright. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Surviving are her husband, T.G. Hawkes Jr. of Longview; a daughter, Mrs. Michael Fitzhugh of Longview; two sons, Darrell Hawkes of Paris and Michael Hawkes of Shreveport, La.; a sister, Mrs. Charles N. Elsey of San Antonio; two brothers, Thomas E. Gathright of Houston and Willis R. Gathright of Victoria; and five grandchildren.
