DAVENPORT - Orval R. Ehrmann, 83, of Davenport, died Sunday, February 14, 2010, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral Services will be Friday, February 19, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the service at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.
Orval was born February 17, 1926, in Davenport, the son of Wendell, J. and Nannie M. (Gilliland) Ehrmann. He was united in marriage to Joyce Groves on July 23, 1953, in Davenport. He served in the Navy during World War II.
Orval was a steamfitter for the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #25, having just received his 61 plus years of service pin.
Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife, Joyce, Davenport; adopted family, Julie and Kevin Schloemer and their children, Christopher and Amanda; nieces, Margy and Michael Hendren, Buffalo, Iowa, and Judi and A.J. McMurphy, of Mississippi; nephews, Mike and Bette Ehrmann, of Texas, and Walt and Anne Ehrmann, of California; and several great nieces and nephews. His parents, brothers Walter and Wendell, Jr., sister, Wilma Schwieters, and his beloved cat, Charlie, preceded him in death.
