Willie Carl Evans
Mr. Willie Carl Evans, age 51, of Olive Branch, Mississippi, died May 14, at the Methodist South Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, after a lengthy illness.
He was formerly from Winona, a World War II Veteran, serving one year in Guam.
He was employed by North Central Electric Power Association. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Winona. He was a member of Coldwater Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite of Memphis, the York Rite of Water Valley, the Olive Branch Shrine Club and Wahabi Shrine Temple in Jackson.
Services were held at 10:00 A.M. May 16, at the Brantley Funeral Home Chapel, Olive Branch, with Shrine graveside services at 3:00 P.M. at the Pearl Hill Cemetery near Carthage, Mississippi.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Christine Evans, his mother, Mrs. Lois Evans of Winona, his father, Clyde Evans, of Greenwood, two brothers, Joe Evans of Kilmichael and Earl Evans of Ocean Springs; two sisters, Kathryn McLaughlin of Ocean Springs, and Martha Wright of Memphis.
Pallbearers were his nephews. Charles Evans, Terry Evans, Jerry Evans, Keith Dowell, Wade Dowell, Roy Earl Surber.
