An open house will be held Sunday, July 9, from 2 - 4 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of First United Presbyterian Church in Mediapolis.

Gilman Wright and Irene Hutchcroft were married July 9, 1945 in First Presbyterian Church in Mediapolis. They have a daughter, Jeannene (David) Wiseman, Cary, NC, and a son, Stephen (Esther) Wright, Des Moines. They also have five grandchildren, Jesse and Seth Wiseman, Benjamin, Laura and Daniel Wright.

Relatives and friends are invited. The couple requests no gifts but your presence and prayers are desired.

The daughter of Clarence and Lucille (VanNice) Hutchcroft, she was born Jan. 3, 1921 at Kossuth. On July 9, 1945, she married Gilman Wright at Mediapolis.

She was a 1939 graduate of Mediapolis High School and a graduate of Parsons College in Fairfield. She was an elementary music teacher, primarily teaching in the Mediapolis School District. She was an active member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Mediapolis, where she served as choir director for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Gilman Wright of Mediapolis; one daughter, Jeannene (Rev. J. David) Wiseman of Cary, NC; one son, Stephen (Esther) Wright of Des Moines; five grandchildren, Jesse and Seth Wiseman and Benjamin, Laura and Daniel Wright; one sister, Margaret Trevitt of Mediapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church in Mediapolis, with Rev. Ronald Green officiating. Interment will follow at Kossuth Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for the First United Presbyterian Church and the Mediapolis Community Ambulance Service.

Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis were in charge of arrangements.
