Joseph A. "Joe" Kruzich, 89, passed from this life on Thursday, January 22, 2004 at the Madrid Home, in Madrid. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 26, 2004, at St. Malachy Catholic Church, in Madrid, with burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Madrid.
Joe was born the son of Andrew and Frances Komadina Kruzich on November 7, 1914 in Scandia, IA. He was a graduate from Madrid High School. On May 7, 1938, Joe married Eda "Babe" Lamberti, and made their home in Madrid. Joe was a former coal miner for nearly 15 years, prior to working for Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. for 29 years, until his retirement. Joe was a member of St. Malach Catholic Parish, and Knights Of Columbus, Ankeny Council.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of nearly 66 years, Babe Kruzich of Madrid; his son, Joseph A. Kruzich Jr. and his wife Diana of The Colony, TX; his daughter, Christine Nims and her husband Stephen of Urbandale; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded into eternal life by his parents.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, at Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, in Madrid, where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. and a Rosary Service will begin at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to either: St. Malachy Catholic Church or the Madrid Home.
