She was injured near her home when she was struck by an auto as she was approaching the school bus. Her brother, William, was injured also and was considered not to be in serious condition. Madeline died several hours later at the hospital.
Surviving are her parents; two brothers, Alfred Carr and William Carr, both at home; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Petitt and Mrs. Wallace Riley, both of Washington, D.C.
