Margaret A. Heisler
YAKIMA - Margaret A. Heisler, 94, of Yakima went peacefully to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Good Samaritan Health Care Center.
Margaret was born January 3, 1911 to Martin and Walburga (Warren) Axtman in Orrin, ND. She came to Yakima in 1937 and worked as a housekeeper for many families. She then devoted many years cooking and keeping house for the priests in Grandview, Lewiston, Idaho and Yakima. Her last employer was Bishop Cornelius Power, who eventually was installed as Archbishop of Portland. Because of heart problems she had to retire. She then did what she also loved to do – canned fruit and made delicious cinnamon and dinner rolls which all of her family enjoyed. We won't forget her beef jerky, either! We love you Mom and Grandma.
Her family wants to say thank you to Dr. Gerald Ellison, the nurses at Good Samaritan, Brian, Dana, Georgia, Glenda and others that took such good care of her, the aids, Joyce the hairdresser at Good Samaritan for all the beautiful perms and haircuts. Also, thank you to her devoted good friends, Esther Wachter and Frank Schneider and his wife Irene.
Margaret was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Schlief December 14, 2001, and all of her other 12 brothers and sisters. She is survived by a son, Bill Heisler and wife Ida of Spokane; a daughter, Marlene Moreau of Yakima; grandchildren, Pam Heisler of Spokane, Len Moreau and wife Barbara of Toledo, WA, Mark Moreau and wife Tresa of Puyallup, WA and Renee Moreau of Kalispell, MT; great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Larry Moreau, Echo and LaKoya Brown; step-grandchildren, Tiffany Recinos and husband Juan and their children and Traviss Moreau; nephews, Terry Reynolds, Rick Reynolds, Ron Schlief, Rod Schlief all of Yakima and numerous nieces and nephews out-of-town.
Viewing will be from Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. A Vigil Service will be at 11:45 a.m. Monday, March 28 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Noon Monday.
