Elizabeth Leona Brown Piercy, 96, of Jacksonville, went to the beloved home above on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Jacksonville Convalescent Center.
She was born on December 1, 1914 in Waverly, IL, the daughter of Edward and Gertrude Bailey Brown. She married Samuel Irvin Piercy and he passed away on December 25, 1976.
She is survived by to daughters: Donna (husband Paul) Piercy Barnett of Anderson, IN, and Bonnie Kay Piercy of Springfield, and one son David Irvin Piercy of Waverly; and fie sisters: Josephine Drucktinis of Santa Maria, CA, Virgie Heriford of Waverly, Evelyn (husband Bill) Johnson of Santa Maria, CA., Norma (husband Stanly) Fletcher of Modesto, and Barbara (husband John) Burnell of Jacksonville; two grandchildren: Lisa Piercy (husband Bibek) Mitra, and Adina Piercy (husband Brian) Page; four great-grandchildren: Katie Piercy, Kayla Piercy, Jenna Piercy and Brandon Mitra, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers: Lenard, Herman, Robert, Edward, and John Brown; three sisters: Mildred Roberts, Louise Jeffers, and Frances Green; and one grandson Josh Piercy.
Mrs. Piercy was a member of the Waverly United Methodist Church.
A funeral service was held on Saturday December 18, 2010 and Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Leland Legg officiating.
