ALBANY - Brian W. Brady, 57, died Wednesday at the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, Ft. Wayne following an extended illness. He was born in Muncie, the son of George and Carolyn Lane Brady. He graduated from Royerton High School and Ball State University with a B.S. in both Geology and Political Science, and spent most of his life in this area. Brian served with the Army for twenty-seven years prior to his retirement. While in the service, he served as Explosive Ordnance Disposal Specialist and as Special Forces Medical Specialist. He received a Bronze Star, Joint Service Commendation Medal and Army Commendation Medal. Brian also received several other medals and awards for his service to his country. Following his retirement, he served with the Delaware County Sheriffs Office as a Special Deputy with the Bomb Squad for several years. Mr. Brady was a member of American Legion Post #387, Gaston, and the National Rifle Association. Surviving are his wife, Tina Brady; his mother, Carolyn Brady and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, George Brady and two brothers, Paul S. and Phillip Brady. Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2011 at Grace Baptist Church, 6401 River Road, Muncie, In 47304, with Rev. Rory Bond will be officiating. Burial will follow at Black Cemetery near Albany. Military Honors will be conducted by the veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard. Friends may call at the church from 2 until 6 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2011 or at the church one hour prior to service time on Monday.
