Birth: Mar. 3, 1874
Death: Apr. 23, 1958

Ida Belle Adams was born in 1874 in Upson County, Georgia to parents; thirty-one year old Joseph Randall and twenty-nine year old Mary Elizabeth Caldwell Adams. Both natives of Georgia.

Sometime prior to the 1880 census, the family moved over the county line into the area of Plattsburg, Taylor County, where at the age of 6, she was found living in District 883, with her parents and siblings. Her father was a farmer and, at the time, Ida Belle was the fifth child of a rather large family. Her siblings in 1880 were sixteen year old Lilian Abigale, Alice Sue 13, John Henry 10, Martha F. "Mattie" 8, George Gresham 4 and William Benjamin just 2 years old. All were born in Georgia and there were a number of siblings to come.

On July 31, 1892, at the age of nineteen, in Taylor County, Ida Belle wed Wilburn Jinks (James) Culverhouse Jr., a farmer who was thirteen years her senior. The family lost no time in raising a large family of their own.

Eight years later, at the turn of the century, they were living in the Daviston district of Taylor County and the family already consisted of five children. (One child had been birthed and not lived to this point.) The other children at the time were Hugh 6, Joseph 5, Mattie L. 4, George 2 and one year old Doctor nicknamed Doc.

By another ten years, according to the 1910 census, Ida Bell had birthed a total of 13 children, 11 of whom were still living, and all with her and Wilbur and still in the Daviston District. Wilbur continued farming and now had some live-in help on the farm. In addition to the five children mentioned above, the family now consisted of May, now 9, Katie Belle 8, Emily L 7, Lola G 5, Eva Nell 4, and baby Eula G 13 months. (One unnamed child had been born in 1904 and is buried here in Howard Cemetery.)
