Mrs. Lee Chilton of New Berlin Dies
Claimed By Death Friday At St. John's Hospital At Springfield.

Waverly - Mrs. Harriet Givens Chilton of New Berlin died Friday morning at 6:30 o'clock in St. John's hospital, Springfield, where she entered as a patient four weeks ago. Mrs. Chilton was born near Waverly, 70 years ago.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Chilton; one son, William and three daughters, Mrs. Charles Adams and Mrs. Adam Nelch of Springfield, and Mrs. Jennie Graham of Gary, Ind. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Jennie Douglas of Mt. Oregon.
The body will be removed Saturday to the home in New Berlin where funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Burial will be in East cemetery at Waverly.

Mrs. Harriet Givens Chilton, of New Berlin, died last Friday morning at St. John's hospital in Springfield, where she had been a patient for several weeks. She was 70 years of age.
Mrs. Chilton was born at Waverly, June 5, 1871, the daughter of William T. and Emma Kent Givens.
In December, 1891, she married Lee F. Chilton, who survives. She also leaves three daughters, Mrs. Jane Beeman, Gary, Ind.; Mrs. Estella Adams and Mrs. Elizabeth Nelch, both of Springfield; one son, William Chilton, New Berlin, and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Douglas of Huntington, Ore.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Chilton was a member of Island Grove Methodist church and the Ladies Aid society.
Funeral services were held at the residence in New Berlin Sunday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Luther McCumber officiating.
Burial was in East cemetery, at Waverly.
